When HIPAA Applies to Us

HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) applies to Protected Health Information (PHI) handled by a "covered entity" (such as many health plans and healthcare providers) or its "business associate."

Optimal Fertility, Inc. may act as a business associate when we provide services to a covered entity and receive, maintain, create, or transmit PHI on its behalf. In those cases, we handle PHI in accordance with HIPAA and our contractual obligations, including through a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) where required.

HIPAA May Not Apply to Information You Share Directly with Us
